The vehicle will already be professionally fitted with the exact child seats you requested, allowing you to bypass queues and head straight to your destination in comfort.
Onboard Guidelines for Family Travel
To maintain our premium standards of cleanliness for all families, eating inside our vehicles is not permitted. We kindly ask that snacks be enjoyed before the journey begins. For hydration, still water is the only drink allowed during the transfer. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our fleet pristine for every passenger.
Available Child Seat Categories
We strictly adhere to Spanish and European traffic laws (DGT). All our seats are certified and selected based on the legal requirements for height and weight. Please note that we provide EU-authorized models even if they differ from those in your home country.
Group 0 – Infant Seat (0–9 kg)
Essential for newborns up to approximately 6 months. Infants travel in a rear-facing position with specialized support and an integrated safety harness to protect their developing neck and spine.
Group 1 – Baby Seat (9–18 kg)
Designed for toddlers from 6 months to 4 years old. These versatile seats offer superior protection and can be adjusted as your child grows. While they can be rear-facing, they are typically installed forward-facing once the child meets the required physical milestones. Each seat features its own secure 5-point harness.
Group 2 – Child Seat (+15 kg)
Suitable for children aged 4 and up. This is a high-back booster that utilizes the vehicle’s three-point seat belt while providing essential lateral protection and ensuring the belt sits correctly across the child’s shoulder.
Group 3 – Booster Seat (18–36 kg)
For older children up to 12 years old. These boosters ensure the vehicle’s seat belt is positioned safely. Note: In Spain, children must travel in the rear seats; front-seat travel is strictly prohibited for minors under 135cm unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children.
Booking Your Child Seat
Our vehicles do not carry child seats by default. You must request them during the booking process (via our web form, WhatsApp, or email) by specifying the age and weight of your children. To cover the maintenance and sanitation of this equipment, there is a small supplement of €3 per seat/journey. Please note that if you are travelling with two child seats and two adults, a Minivan is required to ensure enough space for the seats to be fitted correctly and safely.
FAQs – Child Seat Rules in Gibraltar & Spain
Is it legal to travel in a taxi without a child seat?
While standard city taxis have some exceptions for urban-only trips, our VTC / Private Transfer services have zero exceptions. Because we use interurban roads to reach Sotogrande or Marbella, children must always use the appropriate safety seat. We will not perform a service without the required safety equipment.
What if I forget to book a seat?
For safety and legal compliance, our drivers may refuse the service if the necessary seats were not pre-booked. The legal responsibility for a child travelling without a seat falls on the parent/guardian, and fines in Spain start at €200. We strongly urge you to double-check your booking details.
Are your seats compatible with international standards?
We use EU-standardized groups (0-3). If you are flying in from the UK or elsewhere in Europe, our seats will be identical in safety ratings to what you use at home. For non-EU travellers, rest assured that our seats meet the rigorous safety standards of the Spanish DGT.
